Introducing our 2025 Adjudicator:

Louise Smith

Louise brings nearly 40 years of passion and experience to the dance industry, excelling as a student, teacher, choreographer, studio owner, examiner, and adjudicator. Her dance journey began with a love for diverse styles, earning her a Diploma of Dance in tap, jazz, theatrical, and ballet. Louise founded her own dance studio in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs, which has flourished for 30 years, shaping the lives of countless young dancers, many who have gone on to do amazing things in the dance industry.

Over the past decade, Louise has expanded her influence as an examiner with the AATBD Inc and as a sought-after adjudicator at competitions and eisteddfods around Australia. Her dedication to the art form is driven by a love for dance and a passion for sharing her knowledge and inspiring students, teachers, and audiences alike.  Louise is mindful to consider both the technical and emotional development of dancers during her adjudication.  She delivers constructive feedback with care and in a positive and supportive way in order to build the confidence of each and every dancer.  Louise's aim when adjudicating is to help to make the competition experience a positive one for the competitors, teachers, audiences and organisers alike.
